Wizards take record losing streak to Houston
Basketball Betting Lines
03/30/2010 -
(Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Washington Wizards hope to halt a franchise-record 15-
game losing streak tonight in south Texas when they take on the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center.
Washington's most recent failure came on Saturday when Carlos Boozer and
Mehmet Okur were at the head of a strong inside game with 22 points apiece, as
Utah earned a 103-87 victory at the Verizon Center.
Andray Blatche had 20 points, seven assists and five rebounds for the Wizards,
who haven't won since February 28 at New Jersey. Nick Young added 16 points,
while Mike Miller and Shaun Livingston scored 14 each.
"We're playing teams right now that have more talent then we do. We've got to
continue to work and try and get better," said Wizards head coach Flip
Saunders.
Houston, meanwhile, is riding a losing streak of its own and lost its fourth
straight on Saturday when Pau Gasol recorded 30 points on 11-of-17 shooting
and added eight rebounds and four blocks, as the Los Angeles Lakers
dropped the free-falling Rockets, 109-101.
Houston's current skid has come at a most inopportune time, as the club now
sits 7 1/2 games behind San Antonio for the eighth and final playoff spot in
the West.
Luis Scola went for 28 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, while Aaron
Brooks added 26 points and seven helpers for Houston, which played its second
straight game without high-scoring guard Kevin Martin (shoulder).
"They started hitting shots and we didn't. They started playing well, had good
shot selection, and we just got stagnant," Houston forward Trevor Ariza said.
Martin and defensive stalwart Shane Battier, who has missed all four games in
Houston's skid with a hyperextended left knee, are both listed as day-to-day.
The Rockets haven't dropped five straight since a six-game hiccup from Nov.
13-23, 2007.
Washington, meanwhile, has lost nine in a row on the road overall but did halt
a six-game slide in Houston with a win at the Toyota Center last season.

Terrell Owens could return for Cowboys next game
A bye week will allow Terrell Owens broken hand to recover just in time for the next game the Dallas Cowboys are slated to play, according to reports. MySportsbook.com, an football sportsbook, has posted football betting lines on TO playing.
Owens broke the bone leading to his right ring finger Sunday night and had a plate surgically attached to it Monday. Although Owens' hand was swollen and aching Wednesday, Dallas Cowboys coach Bill Parcells said he's optimistic the receiver will be back at work next week and catching passes a week from Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
MySportsbook.com online sportsbook listed Terrell Owens with odds of 7-2 (or $7 paid out for every $2 bet) to return back for the game against Tennessee.
"I certainly wouldn't rule it out now," Parcells said, referring to Terrell Owens immediate return. "Maybe five days from now I might, but I wouldn't rule it out now. ... I know we're looking to try to get him moving around pretty good in the next day or so. So we'll see where we are."
Owens did not speak with reporters Wednesday, but said Sunday he'd be out two to four weeks. A return against the Titans would be 13 days after the surgery. The Cowboys were listed as an early -7 1/2 favorite vs. the Tennessee Titans for Week 4 at MySportsbook.com
