Temple's Golden gets five-year deal

Golden has reportedly agreed to a new five-year contract with the school.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported the news Wednesday, and the school is
scheduled to announce Golden's contract later in the afternoon.
Golden, 40, has been Temple's head coach since the 2006 season and steadily
built up the program. This past season the Owls went 9-4, achieving their
first winning season since 1990 and first bowl appearance since 1979 -- the
EagleBank Bowl in December.
Temple is Golden's first head-coaching job. Prior to joining the Owls, he was
the defensive coordinator at Virginia and also held coaching positions at Penn State, his alma mater, and Boston College.
