Ron Artest scored 23 points and Mike Bibby chipped in with 14 for the Kings, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Ricky Davis led Minnesota with 24 points, while Kevin Garnett scored 18 and grabbed 10 boards for the Timberwolves, who lost for the seventh time in nine games.

Minnesota took the lead for the first time since the first quarter on a Garnett fadeaway, which put Minnesota up 96-95 with 25.6 seconds remaining.

On the next possession Martin drilled a 15-foot-jumper putting the Kings back on top.

After Randy Foye had the ball stripped by Sacramento's John Salmons, Artest was fouled and made both free throws giving Sacramento a 99-96 advantage with 12.3 ticks left.

After a timeout, Foye stepped out of bounds with just 8.2 seconds showing on the clock. Martin then put the game away making one of two free throws.

Foye's layup provided the final margin.

Sacramento finished the first quarter with a 10-2 run, highlighted by a Artest dunk, giving the Kings a 26-22 lead heading into the second stanza.

A 9-0 surge midway through the second period helped Sacramento take a 54-41 lead into the intermission.

Both teams exchanged baskets in the third session before Trenton Hassell's jump shot made it 80-70 entering the fourth quarter.

Trailing 89-81 with just over six minutes remaining, Minnesota went on a 13-6 surge, ending with two Foye free throws to close to within one, 95-94, with 2:32 left to play.

Game Notes

Sacramento outrebounded Minnesota 47-38...This was the third meeting between these two teams. The Kings now lead the season series, 2-1...Brad Miller had nine points, nine rebounds and nine assists for the Kings, while teammate Kenny Thomas had 11 boards...Shareef Abdur-Rahim missed the game for the Kings due to a sore right knee.

El Duque expected to throw Tuesday

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- New York Mets pitcher Orlando Hernandez, sidelined at spring training because of arthritis in his neck, is expected to resume throwing on Tuesday.

Hernandez received a cortisone shot Thursday after leaving camp and returning to New York to have his neck examined. The 41-year-old right-hander is penciled in as the team's No. 2 starter behind Tom Glavine.

El Duque's health is a major issue for the Mets, who won the NL East in 2007 and came within one victory of the World Series. Their aging and unsettled rotation is a big question mark this year.
